A strong spring storm is expected to bring heavy snowfall and yes, blizzard conditions to the Northern Plains, and Great Lakes. In addition to the wintry side of this system, some severe weather is also expected in the South with the potential for damaging winds, heavy rainfall, flash flooding, and possibly an isolated tornado. As far as snowfall goes, the heaviest is expected from Central Montana through Central Minnesota where up to a foot of snow could fall. Then, moving into the Great Lakes, there could be a bulls eye of 1-2 feet of snow from Northeastern Wisconsin into Northern Michigan. This entire system will slowly be pushing East and producing showers and rain for the Atlantic seaboard for the start of next week.
