Prolonged Northeast dry stretch to come to an end later this week

The Northeast has been experiencing a spell of very dry & cold weather over the last week or so. That dry spell may come to an end later this week due to a system coming out of the south, potentially loaded with moisture. Due to temps in the 40's, the precipitation looks like it will fall in the form of rain for many.
