Winter storm Uma will bring a widespread swath of snow from the Midwest to the Appalachians into the start of this weekend. The highest totals of snow from this storm will likely be from Southern Minnesota into Western Illinois, where up to a foot of snow could fall by time all is said and done. This same system will bring some rain, and maybe even some snow to the Carolinas early next week. Some snow could also fall in parts of Southeastern Massachusetts as a result of an onshore wind due to this close storm out at sea.
