Winter storm Riley is set to slam the Northeast as an intense nor'easter with coastal flooding, high winds, and heavy rain and snow as well. This is a storm that you definitely want to take seriously because of the many facets that come with it like the moderate to major coastal flooding. At the coast, winds could gust up to hurricane strength (74 MPH) and cause not only significant coastal flooding but also a lot of beach erosion as well. Over the interior of Southern New England, as much as 6-12+ inches of snow could fall from this storm. Power outages are looking likely all the way from the Mid-Atlantic into New England, and I think that this is the kind of storm that we are going to remember for years to come. Please stay safe during this incredible weather event, and if you are at the coast, then evacuating would be a good idea to stay safe.
