A major snowstorm in the Midwest will usher in the coldest air of the season so far, from the Great Plains all the way over the the Northeast. Parts of Minnesota could see up to 6 inches of snowfall from this, but in extreme northern Minnesota up to a foot of snow is possible. After Wednesday the cold air will make its way into the Northeast, and likely bring the coldest air of the season over there as well. With the cold air in place over the Northeast, I will keep you posted on any snowstorm threats that may arise with the potential of an active weather pattern.
