US winter forecast: La Niña to fuel abundant snow in Rockies; Bitterly cold air to blast Midwest

The 2017-2018 winter outlook is now in from Accuweather! Most of the Midwest and Northeast will see a colder and snowier winter while in the Southeast milder conditions will prevail with rain at times. Then out west things are looking considerably active with rain and snow. The northern Great plains will see very cold air at times this winter.
