Yes, Accuweather has already started on projecting what next winter may be like. they are at this point predicting a weak to moderate el nino next winter which will have many effects on the winter weather next year. One of those effects is that it may suppress the Atlantic hurricane season which is more of a late summer and early fall effect of el nino. Another effect is that el nino being weak to moderate may fuel frequent storms in the east next winter. This could mean snowstorms in the Northeast and torrential rains for the South next winter. The 2014-2015 winter was also a moderate el nino winter and that winter was the one in which Boston broke its all-time snowfall record. This leads me to believe that the Northeast has a shot at seeing a lot more snow next winter. Next winter is still very far away so this could all change but this is the projected pattern for next winter at this time, but yes it could all change. here is a link to lots more info from Accuweather- http://www.accuweather.com/en/weather-news/return-of-el-nino-may-suppress-atlantic-hurricane-season-fuel-frequent-storms-in-eastern-us-next-winter/70001184
